Welcome to Nourish Wellness

nourish . verb . [nur-ish, nuhr-]

definition:
-to promote the growth of
-to provide with substances necessary for growth, health and good condition

In the healing professions, we often talk about the importance of nourishment in its many forms, the ways we obtain nourishment, it’s important role in our wellbeing and growth, and barriers to accessing it.

Thus, it seemed fitting to begin this journey with the name, Nourish.

I am a social worker and yoga teacher, but beyond those titles, I am a human being deeply interested in supporting people’s growth and well being, helping them to find the tools to access their innate resources.

It is from this intention that the vision of a collaborative community health collective, which honours the interconnection of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health, was born.

Nourish Wellness offers the Comox Valley a unique space for support, connection, education, healing and growth.  We offer counselling, physiotherapy, Reiki and reflexology, as well as yoga, meditation and Qigong. We also host speakers and workshops, which contribute to these goals and align with our values.

  • “Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

  • “The impulse to heal is real and powerful and lies within the client…We are not the healers. We are the context in which healing is inspired.” ~ Ron Kurtz

  • “Our bodies communicate to us clearly and specifically, if we are willing to listen to them.” ~ Shakti Gawain

  • “To work something through means to change one’s view; if we try instead to change the emotion, we may achieve some short-term success, but we remain bound by forces of attachment and an aversion to the very feelings from which we are struggling to be free.” ~ Mark Epstein

  • Healing does not mean curing, although the two words are often used interchangeably. While it may not be possible for us to cure ourselves or to find someone who can, it is always possible for us to heal ourselves. Healing implies the possibility for us to relate differently to illness, disability, even death, as we learn to see with eyes of wholeness. Healing is coming to terms with things as they are."
