Gentle Somatic Movement, 10:00-11:30am with Carolyn Pigott
I have worked closely with clients for over twenty years as a Registered Massage Therapist in clinical practice, and five years as a Somatic Yoga Instructor. I deeply value the healing experience that I witness in people who practice this kind of gentle movement class.
You will be guided in gentle movement on your mat to repattern your neuromuscular system. Through the practice of deep breathing techniques and mindful awareness you will discover areas of your body that are stuck in something called sensory motor amnesia, a chronically tight state in deep postural muscles. You will discover movement and relaxation techniques to unlock these patterns and feel a renewed sense of ease and comfort in your joints and muscles. Your mind and body will relax and you will walk out feeling a renewed vitality to take on your life once again!
This class is suitable for all ages, abilities, and orientations.
