Yin Yoga & Sound Healing, 5:30 – 7:00pm with Taylor Cascanette

    *CLASS FULL*
This class offers a safe space to find stillness, tune into our bodies and develop awareness of sensations. Teaching through a trauma-informed lens, you will always be given the choice to be in complete control of your body and your experience.
The encouragement is to go purposely slow and gentle, while holding curiosity for sensations, and allowing space for relaxation. Compassionate insights and mindful meditations will be offered. Physiological and neurological benefits will be sprinkled throughout class.
The first part of class will be the quiet, slow practice of Yin Yoga. Gently targeting both the connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. Most forms are either seated or laying down. You get to choose how deep you want to go in the form.
The second half we will explore various sound healing instruments, harmonizing our cells and balancing the body’s energy system. These healing vibrations induce deep meditative & peaceful states, reducing stress and bringing a clarity of mind. Using sound, we can explore our own journey towards a state of calm.

    22/11/17

Beginners Welcome – we recommend some ability and / or committing to the class to see improvements in form!

From warming up with movement – to building strength in longer holds we will explore poses and sequences that are more challenging.  This class will have more movement and perhaps more strenuous for shoulders and wrists – but options will be offered.  Working through Vinyasa sequences and layering on power moves then finishing with a good stretch is my intention for this class.  Join me to challenge yourself but also to ensure your basic alignment, the foundation of all good yoga, is there to help deepen your practice in a safe way.

    22/11/24

Participants will then experience sacred music and sound instruments (including gongs and crystal bowls) that will clear, brighten and balance the energy of each chakra. $28 pre-register, $35 at the door.
